FORESTS ARE
INFRASTRUCTURE.

Georgia’s working forests connect a resource with people, communities, skills and a supply chain built across generations.

More than a feedstock

A WORKING FOREST.
A WORKING ECONOMY.

Landowners, mills, forestry contractors, equipment operators and logistics businesses all participate in Georgia’s working-forest economy.

For rural communities, that economy means skills, services and livelihoods. GeorgiaSAF’s proposition begins with the people who manage forests and move wood, as well as those who would build and operate the planned facility.

GeorgiaSAF aims to create a new long-term industrial market for sustainably sourced woody biomass while complementing existing higher-value forest uses.

PEOPLE. FORESTS. FLIGHT.

03 / FLIGHT

FROM THE FOREST.
WITH GEORGIA.

The proposed supply chain includes landowners and forestry contractors, harvesting and chipping businesses, trucking, rail and the services that support them.

Feedstock availability, specification, responsible sourcing and commercial arrangements are part of the development work.

Responsible sourcing

COMPLEMENTING
EXISTING FOREST USES.

The sourcing objective is to develop a dependable supply of suitable woody biomass alongside Georgia’s established forest-product economy.

Feedstock assessment will consider material suitability, source traceability, forest management practices and logistics. Sourcing standards and contractual requirements must be established for the development.

Project-specific sustainability performance will depend on the final sourcing and process configuration.

Site assembly, technical diligence, engineering, permitting, financing and other customary development milestones remain underway.
